The college established in the year 1956 in the month of August the college is affiliated to Calcutta University and Is NAAC. Accredited. Earlier the college pursued education to a group of 500 and 50 teachers with the majority Subject being humanities. The institution is named after Charles Andrews a Christian missionary the college was established with aim to provide education to the poor erstwhile East ,(presently Bangladesh ) But the institution is now well developed and reputed and now have various courses offered like science and commerce. Present teacher are 94 with highest experience 27 teachers are State aided and Students ratio is 4000

The mission of the university is to create learning outcomes though the higher education To encourage every qualified and capable school students and to provide them the opportunity to excel in their respective career To expand Higher education scope and to help students in every possible ways
