Galgotias college of engineering and technology belongs to the Galgotias group of educational institutions which is a very famous private group in the education industry.

This institute aims to provide technical education in the field of management. They have received many approvals from All India Council of Technical Education, ministry of human resource development. It is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.

For engineering and technology, they have set up different departments which are department of electrical engineering, department of electronics and communication, department of computer science and engineering, department of civil engineering, department of electronics and instrumentation engineering, department of information technology and department of mechanical engineering.  Various undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered under the same.

For the development of their members, they have set up numerous cells and committees. Some of them are the Institute academic committee, faculty development cell, research and project funding committee, and student welfare committee.

A fully functional placement cell ensures smooth conduct of the whole placement procedure of the students. Some of the activities conducted by them include industry visits, mentorship activities, field research work, faculty mentored corporate internship program.
