Indian Institute of information technology, Lucknow was established in the year 2015. It was set up by the central government through public-private partnership. It has been considered as one of the premier Institutes for engineering in India. 

Their motive is to provide quality education services in technology so as to strengthen the technological base of the country.

In order to seek admission in IIT, Lucknow, a student has to qualify in JEE(mains), and they offer the following courses to their student-

1. Bachelor's of technology in information technology

2. Bachelor's of technology in computer science

3. Bachelor's of technology in computer science and artificial intelligence

4. Bachelor's of technology in computer science & business

They also offer Masters of technology in computer science, MBA in digital business. Apart from that they also have various diploma courses at postgraduate level. Phd programs are also available.

To promote research, they have set up a centre for data science and artificial intelligence which is being headed by the professors and supervised by the director. 

They also have collaborated with various national and international organizations. They also provide internship opportunities and training in data science and artificial technology.

To assist the students, they do provide students counselling services. Student clubs include
