Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB or IIM Bangalore) is a public  business school located in Bangalore, India. It was founded in 1973 by N. Srinivas Iyer Ramaswamy. After IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad it was the 3rd IIM  established. 

The motto of IIMB is ‘Tejasvi nāvadhītamastu’ which basically in common terms  means ‘Lets our study be enlightening’. The recent Indian Institute of Management  Bangalore depicted the sun and was designed by the National Institute of Design  and has been used since 1994. The chairperson of this 48 year old public building school  is Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty and the director is Rishikesha T. Krishnan. There are 109  academic staff all together. This public business school is affiliated to the Institute of  National Importance. It is located in the urban belt of Bangalore , Karnataka at the  Bannerghatta Road with an area of over 100 acres. Transportation is easily  available as it is located in the southern part of the city . Indian Institute of  Management Bangalore is thinking of setting up a second campus on the outskirts of  the city near Jigani in Anekal.

This Institute offers Post Graduation , Doctorate, Executive Education and  Certificate programs. The core courses are Financial Reporting and Analysis,  Designing Organizations, Decision Sciences, Competition and Strategy, Managerial  Economics, Macroeconomics, Operations Management, Corporate Finance,  Managing People & Performance in Organisations, Marketing Management,  Corporate Governance & Ethics, Entrepreneurial Management and Business Law. The candidates are admitted through the process of Common Admission Test (CAT) for  Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and Graduate Management  Admission Test (GMAT) for candidates with higher experience i.e. the Executive  Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP).

They claim to have been committed to making a deep social impact using technology enabled education. They offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). They are the  first management school in India to offer MOOCs on edX platform. They also are 

the coordinating institute for management education for SWAYAM, Gol's online  education platform. They have taken several steps to meet the vision set for IIMB.  These include hiring high quality faculty, enhancing the quality of research and  mentoring, scaling up in terms of student intake in all the programmes, deepening  their engagement with the alumni, improving infrastructure, and improving  administration and governance.
