Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is a government aided institute and deemed to be a university located in Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. IIST was established in 2007 and inaugurated by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, the then chairman of ISRO. It was the first university in Asia which is completely dedicated to the study and research of Outer Space. The campus is spread over the area of 100 acres.

 The institute offers courses in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in focus on space science, technology and applications. The institute has 108 well-educated academic staff and approximately 948 students. The college is affiliated to the UGC and AICTE.
