Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU) is a public technical and research university. It was established back in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College. It is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. In 1968, it got the name Banaras Hindu University and finally in 2012 it was designated as Indian Institute of Technology.
