IIT Kharagpur Admission 2024: Indian institute of technology Kharagpur was established in 1951 and it is the first college to recognise national importance by the  government of India. IIT Kharagpur was founded by pandit Jawaharlal Nehru .IIT Kharagpur is the 4th oldest technical institute in West Bengal. The name "Indian Institute of Technology" was adopted before the formal inauguration of the institute on 18 August 1951 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

It was established as a vision of excellence in education and research in science and technology.IIT Is a kind of institutions which consistently take efforts in vendoring high quality education. IIT Kharagpur as been constantly maintain its NIRF Ranking of number 4 for last 2years. IIT Kharagpur is located 120 kilometres (75 mi) west of Kolkata. IIT Kharagpur has about 605 faculty members and near about 10000 students in college.

The institute admits students to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through JEE and GATES courses respectively . The count of overall students is effectively high as compared to other IITs colleges . This institution has 8134 engineers. Number of students within the state is 1165 and the number of students from other states is 6960. There are 9 international students studying in this institution. 

IIT Kharagpur also offers PGDBA courses at PG level in collaboration with IIM Calcutta and ISI. The minimum eligibility for the course is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 60% marks.  Candidates with a rank of 3000+ have fair chances to get admission into Mechanical, Chemical and Aerospace Engineering. At PG level, the institute offers M.Tech, MHRM, MCP, M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc., EMBA and LLM courses.
