Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, NMIMS Deemed to be University, established in 1981 also known as SVKM’s NMIMS or NMIMS University. The University comprises 17 constituent schools which provide different programmes such as undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of management, engineering, commerce, pharmacy, architecture, economics, mathematical sciences, hospitality, science, law, aviation, liberal arts, performing arts, architecture & design. The university was started by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal. He started the university with the help of  a donation made by Narsee Monjee Educational Trust. The university was started as a management institute that was affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The university started with the course Masters in Management Studies. The main campus is located in Vile Parle, West Mumbai. This university is best known for its MBA and PGDM courses. 

The university has multiple campuses in different parts of India. They have their campuses in Mumbai, Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce, Shirpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore. They also have two upcoming projects in Dhule and Chandigarh. The university provides everything for their students. NMIMS provides the best infrastructure as it has a well furnished library which contains a large number of books covering each and every area of study. Along with this they also have journals. Not only books and journals are provided by the university, they also have audio video materials, management games etc. They have hostel facilities for both girls and boys separately with all the facilities for the students. They also have a basketball court, swimming pool, table tennis etc.

There are many courses offered by the university as regular, part time and distance. The courses include UG, PG, doctoral, certificate programmes across Management, Engineering, Law, Science, Design, Architecture and Commerce and others also. Admission for the courses conducted through entrance examination and main three examinations of NMIMS is NMAT, NPAT and NMIMS Research Aptitude Test.  NPAT is for the courses like BBA, BCom (Hons), BSc Finance, BSc (Economics), BA (Hons) Liberal Arts and BBA in Branding and Advertising.
