National Institute of Technology [NIT], Rourkela located in Rourkela, Odisha, India. The college was established as Regional Engineering College in Rourkela on 15 of August 1961. The college is located on approximately 648 acres, provided by Biju Patnaik, the chief Minister Of Odisha. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India was the person who laid the foundation stone of the college. In 2002 the college became an autonomous college. But now the college is under Ministry Of Human Resource Development and becomes a National Institute of Technology [NIT]

The college provides all the facilities for the students. College is situated on the main railway routes and it connects to all the parts. NIT has a well educated faculty. Colleges have around twenty departments with B. Tech, B.Arch, B. Tech-M. Tech Dual, M. Tech, M.Sc, Integrated M.Sc, MBA and PhD degree.

NIT Admission 2024

The admission procedure for NIT, Rourkela is through entrance examination and a set of eligibility criteria set up by NIT, Rourkela itself. The admissions for B. Tech, BSC, M. Tech is based on JEE rankings. NIT, Rourkela not only considers JEE examination but also JoSSA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The seats are filled only after the selection of eligible students by JoSSA. Another criteria for NIT, Rourkela is to have a score above 70% in 10,+2 or equivalent examinations with physics, chemistry and maths (PCM). The eligibility criteria for masters is to have 60% or 6.0 GPA on bachelors degree.
