Presidency College is a government college of arts, commerce, and science in the city of Chennai in Tamil Naidu, India. Established in 1840, it is one of the oldest colleges by the British Indian Government. In 1840, it was a preparatory school and later, it was upgraded to a high school and then, graduate college. The University is affiliated by the University of Madras. It is one of the two Presidency college established by the British in India, the other being the Presidency College, Kolkata. The NIRF ranked 5th among the colleges in India in 2024. The facilities they offer are Hostels, Library, Post-office, Cafeteria, counter of Central Bank Of India, Healthcare facilities. They have hostels for both men and women. The college has NCC programme mainly to arouse social consciousness of the students through community service. The NCC was first started in Presidency College, Chennai. At present, NCC unit of Presidency College consists of 104 cadets. The college has various clubs like Rotaract Club, Environmental Club, Quiz Club, etc.
The college has one of the most beautiful buildings constructed by the British Government in Chennai. Due to nineteenth century British style of Architecture, the college campus is a location for many films.

The college have one of the best faculty members to address 3894 students. Admissions to the college is based on merit and TANCET Entrance exam for MCA.
