About the College

College of veterinary animal science was established in 1960 the college belongs to GB Pant University. It has been accredited by NAAC. The research achievements are one of the strengths of this college. The college undertakes various research projects and students have been provided with the necessary infrastructure. Some of the facilities include Laboratories computer centre sports ground, music rooms and art room. Apart from that it also provides transportation and residential facilities to its students. The college has a very active placement cell which undertakes counselling of their students. Various cells and committees have been established in order to promote co-educational as well as extra curricular interest of these students and students are being encouraged for their active participation in the activities. The college provides courses at undergraduate graduate, doctoral level and degree program courses to the students and it has been divided into different departments including department of animal Genetics and breeding department of animal nutrition department of livestock production management of livestock products Technology department of veterinary and atomic department of veterinary animal husbandry and extension education. 

Eligibility 

For admissions to the undergraduate courses, students must have secured Eminem of 50% marks in general category and minimum of 40% marks for resolved category in the subjects of chemistry, biology , English and physics in all India competitive examinations. 

UG and PG admissions 

Admissions to the undergraduate degree programs are made on the basis of merit and secondly on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the comparative University entrance exam which is conducted by GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar every year students from Uttarakhand who are the residents of Uttarakhand are not directly eligible to apply for admissions to the undergraduate degree programs in the university alternatively they can applied to veterinary Council of India New Delhi and they have to submit a separate application and should appear for all India competitive examinations so as to attend the counselling and New Delhi for securing admission by seat allotment.
