This university started working in the year 1956 situated in the khairagarh township of Chhattisgarh state. It is acknowledged by the national assessment and a creditation council NAAC with grade A by NAAC the objective of the university is to provide instructions in all the branches of music and fine arts to make provision for research and advancement of studies in music and fine University also shares knowledge and information with the village commercialisation of their location importance of knowledge sharing importance of education sanitation and economical aspects they also collaborate with the village community to organised short term courses run by the long life learning department of the university this university tries its level best to make music and fine arts vibran and relevant. There are 29 colleges which are affiliated to this university musical evening Shruti mandal in organised once in a week student of different courses of music and dance are given a chance to exhibit their skills on the stage students are given chance to improve their talent form and personality through participation in various program.

It offers courses at undergraduate level and PhD in various  specialisation at the PG and doctoral level for undergraduate level admissions is done on the basis of candidates performance in the aptitude test conducted by the University. The upper age limit for undergraduate courses is 26 years the candidate will have to choose among other nine language subjects with the major specialisation and environmental studies is compulsory subject for undergraduate students. for post graduate courses candidate must have a bachelors degree with minimum 45% taken together in all years and 50% marking aggregate subjects and admission is done on the basis of the valid score in aptitude Test taken by the University.

ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility to apply for undergraduate courses is 10 + 2 or equivalent from a recognised board the eligibility for postgraduate courses is to pass in naturals degree in any discipline or any other element degree or diploma relaxation of 5% for the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories. There shall we know age limit for women candidates relaxation 4 handicapped and differently abled applicants in upper age limit by 5 years.
