NIT Admission 2024 | National Institute of Technology UG & PG Course Last Date

Located in the north eastern state of Nagaland,National Institute of Technology is one of the 31 NITs set up by Government of India in the year 2009 as a part of 11th 5 year program to impart education to the dedicated students willing to pursue career in the field of engineering living to its motto “Education is Power”. Though the institute came into existence in the year 2009, but started functioning an year later and it was the year 2010, when the institute admitted its first batch of engineering. For the initial two years of its inception, NIT Silchar filled the place of mentor for NIT Dimapur and to date is managed by NIT Nagaland Society. The institute is funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE).

NIT Admission 2024

Describing its academic courses, NIT here offers six undergraduate engineering courses and four masters engineering courses and masters in physics. The institute offers integrated M.Sc  BSM (material science) and PhD programs in 10 departments. Admission to undergraduate engineering courses are offered to the candidate qualifying joint entrance examination conducted (JEE) conducted nationally through CBT mode by national testing agency (NTA) whereas a valid score in GATE grants admission to masters degree in engineering.

Along with state of the art infrastructure depicting its architectural glory besides excellent teaching pedagogy, the institute is known to have other facilities. Classrooms with projectors, laboratories accessible to students even after the closing hours with special permission, bus facility for staff, hostels equipped with geysers, uninterrupted supply of water and electricity, purified drinking water, high speed internet are some of the many facilities. The institute organizes annual technical and cultural fest nomenclatured as  “EKA RIKTHIM”  which witnesses active participation of students and faculties with exhilarating zeal and zenith of enthusiasm.
