The ERD Foundation's fourth initiative is the Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST), an engineering institution of distinction. RIST offers B.Tech courses that are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, and is affiliated with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, India's first Prestigious Central University. RIST is the largest technical institution in North East India, spanning 130 acres and rightly titled Techno City.

VISION

To "promote technological education, research, and leadership development, therefore providing the necessary quality workforce to improve the area and speed the nation-building process."

PURPOSE

1. Establish technical institutes in accordance with AICTE/UGC guidelines for academic and general management, as well as future development.

2. Encourage technical innovation and application for regional upliftment of North Eastern India, particularly of backward people such as tribals, minority communities, and those who require special attention.

3. Encourage cooperation programmes with companies and R&D institutes in the North East to investigate and develop the region's technology application potential for solving local problems and raising people's living standards.

4. Make a name for yourself in the fields of excellent technology education, research, and development.

5. Create monitoring devices for future development and provide facilities for significant technology transfer.

6. Prepare students for demanding professions in scientific and technology thrust areas via education and training.

7. Choose students and faculty members only on merit in order to turn ERDF institutes into centres of excellence in the future.

8. Encourage and develop the poor segment of society, particularly the Minority Community, by providing them with access to modern education and addressing their other needs and issues on a regular basis.

Regular Admission:

Admission will be based on the ERDF Common Entrance Test (ERDF-CET). To identify qualified candidates, the Common Entrance Test will be held in several places around the North East. Applicants can apply online or in person at the following addresses by paying $700.00 in cash or by credit/debit card/DD.

Eligibility

H.S. (10+2) Science or comparable examination with Physics and Mathematics as obligatory courses, as well as one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology, with 45 percent marks in the aforementioned topics taken combined (40 percent marks for SC/ST).

Candidates who have completed the final Diploma examination in a field of study (as per AICTE guidelines) conducted by any State Board of Technical Education in respective branch of Engineering / Technology (after 10th or 10+2) are eligible for lateral entry. A minimum of 50% in aggregate will be required for admission to the third semester of the B.Tech degree. Bachelor's degree holders in Math and Physics are also qualified.

Candidates must submit completed application forms to Admission Offices. Such individuals are exempt from taking the admission exam. Their merit list will be compiled based on their overall marks in the diploma exams. Those who are doing the last year Diploma will be entitled to apply, with the caveat that At the moment of admission, they will produce the mark sheet.
