About the college

In 1996, the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) was settled in Panji, Goa, India. Among the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)’s 27 research institutes, the independent university of investigation is one of them. It is a public university and got approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers science doctoral programs. Students that are chosen by the university can stay in hostels. The dormitory has been working well, with water and electricity available constantly. Students participate in a variety of sports and leisure activities to preserve their overall health, which is important in this line of work. The campus provides first-rate medical care as needed, together with basic first-aid supplies and guidance. The university offers a large selection of books, periodicals, and practice questions that may be used as resources for study guides. Additionally, it has a cafeteria where students may relax after a hard day and enjoy a choice of inexpensive foods. Various cultural and academic events are held in the university’s auditorium.

Through the online webpage, applicants applying for admission can submit an online application for programs. Entrance to this university is solely based on merit, and in order to enroll in the university, the applicant must satisfy the fundamental requirements for the programs. For admission to the Ph.D. program, applicants must pass the UGC-NET or JROF exams. The only way to apply to this university is online.

Eligibility

The university offers a Ph.D. in Science for 3-year on-campus. The candidates should have completed the 10+2 pattern from a recognized board/university plus they should have completed their bachelor's and master’s degrees from a recognized university. The selection will be merit based on the entrance exam (UGC-NET/JRF) followed by interviews for Ph.D. admission.
