Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law [RGNUL], is located in Patiala, Punjab, India. The college was established in 2006. The college was established by the Punjab Government, on the basis of Punjab Act No 12 of 2006. The college is located in a place where students can get connected to a transport facility fast. The university is spread over an area of 50 acres. RGNUL is connected with various organisations such as Asian Law Institute (ASLI), Singapore; Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA); Forum of South Asian Clinical Law Teachers (FSACLT), Goa; Indian Economic Association (IEA); Indian Institute of Comparative Law (IICL),  Jaipur, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi; Indian Law Institute (ILI), New Delhi; Indian Political Science Association (IPSA); Indian Society of Criminology (ISC), Madras; Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi; and many more such organisations. The university is recognised by UGC and BCI. The college provides different facilities for all the students. The university includes moot court halls, library, health centre, hostels, guest house, computer lab, sports, gym, conference hall etc. Separate Hostel facilities are available for Boys and girls. The library provided by the college is well equipped with a good collection of books as well as they have journals, databases, micro documents, project reports etc.  The university has a Wi-Fi facility for both students and their staff.

The courses provided by the college are BA LLB which is a five year course, LLM which is a one year course and Ph.D Law which is a six year course. The admission procedure for BA LLB and LLM is through CLAT examination and for Ph.D the admission is through the performance of the student on the examination and interview conducted by the college authority.
