About the college
Sri Venkateswara College of Nursing is an institution being run by Srinivasa Educational Academy. The college was founded in the year 1982 with the aim of improving the quality of nursing education.
It is affiliated to Andhra Pradesh Nursing Council and to the DR. NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada. It is recognised by the Andhra Pradesh state government and the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi.
The college campus has hostels, seminar room, an auditorium, huge classrooms, clinical laboratories, library, sports facilities, computer lab and canteen. The college also has a placement cell.
SVCON Admission 2024
The college runs 4 courses: Bachelor degree of Science (B.Sc.) in nursing (4 years), General Nursing & Midwifery Diploma (3 years), Master degree of Science (M.Sc.) in nursing (2 years) and Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (2 years). The bachelor degree has an intake of 80students. The master’s degree has an intake of 15 students and has specialisation options (Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing). The diploma courses i.e. GNM and ANM admit 60 and 40 students respectively.
The admissions are granted on the basis of the procedure laid out by the university.
Eligibility
B.Sc. in Nursing: The candidate must be of 17 years of age and should have passed 10+2 in Science stream [PCB and English as compulsory subjects] with 45% marks from a recognised board such as ICSE/ CBSE/ State Board.
Master of Science in Nursing: The candidate should have passed B.Sc. course in nursing with at least 55% score and he/she should have a minimum work experience of 1 year after B.Sc.. He/she should be Registered Nurse and Midwife.
GNM: The candidate must be between the ages of 17 and 35 and should have passed 10+2 examination.
ANM: The candidate should have passed10+2 from CBSE/ ICSE/ State Board or any pre-university examination or any other examination considered equivalent.
