About the college 

Tagore Government College of Education is located in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It was established in 1981 and is affiliated to the University of Pondicherry. It has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The institute strives to become a centre of excellence in the field of teacher training so as to develop its students holistically and to contribute to the education of the country in future generations. In order to achieve such a mission, the college provides many facilities such as a library, laboratories for science, psychology, electronics, language and computers, seminar halls, AV room, physical education, study tours, student camps, etc. The college also provides many internship opportunities to integrate students into the field first-hand. 

Tagore Government College of Education Admission 2024 

Students can pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at the college, which is a 2 year long academic program for those interested in learning the skills and knowledge that is involved in being an educator. The specialisations one can study within are: English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Botany, Zoology, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Home Science, and History. 

Eligibility

To be considered eligible for a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), the student is needed to have previously completed a Bachelor's Degree in any stream or subject relevant to the specialisation mentioned above. A minimum 50% academic score is also required. 

Process 

To begin the application process for admission in the college, the student must visit the website and access the prospectus that is available on the admissions page. Within the prospectus, the student can find the application form and related documents that can be printed out and filled in the student's handwriting. The form and documents must then be submitted to the college office to be reviewed for a seat in the college.
