About the college

Abhayapuri College, Bongaigaon is situated in Abhayapuri Town which is in Assam. It is one of the oldest colleges in Assam. It was founded on 13th August 1955. It provides

quality education at UG level. One can also complete their higher secondary exam from this college. For that it is affiliated to Assam Higher Secondary Board. They offer courses both offline and through distance learning program. They work to develop an all rounder personality in students with the adequate soft skills. This a co-educational college which is run by the Government. They are affiliated to the Gauhati university. They are currently offering two streams- Science and Arts.

The courses offered by this college are - B.A. Economics, B.A Education, B.A History, B.A. Arabic, B.A. Assamese, B.A. English, B.A. Hindi, B.A. Sanskrit, B.A. Philosophy, B.A. Geography, and B.A. Political. Science. In order to get admission in the college one has to fill up the form which is released in the website every year. The final selection list is based on marks acquired by the student.

This college also provide admission to student in higher secondary (1+1 year).

Eligibility

For the UG course, the aspirant must have crossed the age of 18 and have completed his or her 10+2 with passing percentage. A list is complied and people who have the merit can take admission in this college. However the people with their name at the top of the list are given the priority.

The college provides a wide range of courses in both science and arts stream. The subjects are – History , philosophy, economics, education,Arabic, assassame, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, geography, political science.

They also provide Bachelor of Vocation (B Voc) degree in Information Technology, Tourism and Travel Management, Retail Management and Banking Finance Services.
