Introduction: College details,

Assam University was established in the year 1994 as a Central University on behalf of the 1989 University Act which started its education functionaries with only six departments.

Recently in the year 2014, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) reaccredited the institute with a grade ‘B’ certificate with a CGPA score of 2.92. The university courses and programs are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

Facilities: The 273 bigha Diphu campus spread all over the hilly terrain caters to high-class infrastructure for its seamless education process. Some of the facilities have been listed below-

  • Health Care facilities at the University Health Centre- The health center provides excellent services to its students in any case of emergency, has medical equipment such as an X-Ray machine, diagnosis labs which are handled by specialist medical professionals along with a lady medical officer and also by the well-trained paramedical staff. The university also provides 24x7 Ambulance services in case of emergency to the nearest Silchar Medical College (10 km away). The university health center also arranges health camps from specialists of the Silchar Medical College.
