  • In the kokrajhar city of north eastern state of Assam, a technological institute was established by the Government of India in the year 2006. Often abbreviated as CITK, the institute is a public university constitutional to serve as a platform for the students mesmerized by the wonders of gadgets and willing to contribute significantly towards the furtherance in the technological world. Ever since the dawn of globalization and progression in the technological arena, many have dreamt to either shape a career or learn so as to volunteer in further marching in the technology. This led to an acute shortage of technological institutes which served as the premise for the government to launch several engineering institutions meeting the demands of candidates. CITK is one such mind boggling creation of the government. The nascency of the institution was the memorandum of settlement of Bodoland territorial council (BTC) signed between the government of India and state government of Assam and bodo liberation tiger force. Spreading in an area of 300 acres with the motto “asato ma sadgamaya, tamso ma jyotirgamaya”, institute offers integrated diploma courses namely B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Des, M.Des, D.Tech, D.Des which are funded by the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) now renamed as the ministry of education (MoE). CITK was deemed fit to be given the status of deemed university by UGC and MoE and now functions under the Board of Governors (BOG). the departments imparting diploma and degrees include-

  • Department of instrumentation
  • Department of multimedia communication and design
  • Department of allied science
  • Department of basic science
  • Department of humanities and social science

Admission to all engineering courses are offered through the national exam JEE Mains.

With a not so appreciable placement record , the institute has managed to place its students in companies like pepsico, nestle and kingfisher.
