About the College

The D.A.V. College of Education, Abohar, was founded in 1968 and is currently managed by the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. The institution has served the area of teacher education for more than 50 years, during which time it has consistently produced outstanding outcomes in academic, cultural, and other relevant disciplines. Since its inception, the institution has carved out a distinct niche in Punjab's educational system. The college is connected with Punjab University, Chandigarh, and has been given permanent recognition by NCTE for the M.Ed. and B.Ed. programmes it offers. Since 2005, the college's ETT programme has also received recognition from SCERT and NCTE. The grant-in-aid programme of the Punjabi government recognises the college. DAV College of Education Admission 2024

The college offers a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) programme.

Eligibility

Candidates applying for the B.Ed. course must have at least 45% in their Bachelor's degree from any reputed university.  

Candidates applying for the M.Ed. course must have completed their B.Ed. from a recognised board with at least 50% marks in the final examination.

Candidates applying for the D.El.Ed. course must have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 45% marks in the final examination.

Admission

Based on an admission exam administered by Punjab University, candidates for the B.Ed. programme are admitted.

According to the rules established by Punjab University and NCTE, admission to the M.Ed. programme is based on merit.

According to the NCTE and SCERT Mohali admission standards, entrance to the D.El.Ed. programme is based on merit.
