ABOUT COLLEGE

The Department of Business Administration, was established in 1995 with the first class of students enrolling in its flagship two-year full-time MBA programme. In 2016, the university was ranked 27th in the Management category by NIRF. The AICTE has also approved this programme.

Aside from providing outstanding management education, the Department is involved in research, consulting, and training.

COURSES

The university students can pursue MBA, diploma, and doctoral programmes. National level entrance exams, such as the CAT and MAT, are used to determine admission to the MBA programme.

Tezpur University, on the other hand, holds its own examination for Ph.D. candidates.

ELIGIBILITY

FOR PhD DEGREE

Master's degree in notified disciplines with a consistently good academic record and a minimum of 55% or equivalent CGPA in the Master's degree.

FOR MBA DEGREE

A bachelor's degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks (50% for SC/ST).

FOR MMTM DEGREE

Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a major/honours grade point average of at least 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/PWD)

Candidates who do not have a major or honours must have a minimum of 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PWD).

ADMISSION

Admission to all courses at Tezpur University is based on either an entrance exam or a merit-based system. 

Candidates who fall into the following categories are eligible for admission to the university:

A valid JEE Main score is required for BTech admission. Sixty percent of the seats are reserved for permanent residents of the North-East (NE) states, while the remaining 40 percent are available for admission through JoSSA counselling.

Direct admission to MTech is available to candidates who have a valid GATE score. If any seats remain unfilled after admission via GATE, they will be filled through the TUEE merit list.

Candidates for MBA admission must have a valid CAT/ MAT/XAT/ATMA/GMAT/CMAT score, as well as a Personal Interview (PI)

Admission to the remaining UG and PG programmes, such as Integrated BA, Integrated BSc, B.Ed, MA, MSc, MCom, MA, MSc, MTech, and MTTM, is based on the TUEE, which is a university-wide online entrance examination.

Admission to the PhD programme is contingent on a passing result on the TUEE exam. Those who have received a valid score in the UGC (NET/ JRF)/ UGC-CSIR (NET/JRF)/ DBT-JRF/ ICMR-JRF/ ICAR-NET/ GATE/ SLET/ MPhil are excused from the university-conducted written test and are admitted directly based on their performance in the PI.
