About the college

On April 30, 1995, Gossaigaon B.Ed. College was founded with the mission of being an elite centre for teacher preparation. Its slogan was "Quality and Security." Mr. Japendra Nath Narzary, the former Director of Education for the Bodoland Autonomous Council, Kokrajhar, Assam, officially opened the college's classes on September 12th, 1995. At the opening event, Mr. S.R. Roy, the principal of the Kokrajhar Government B.Ed. College, was a special guest. The college was founded on the grounds of Gossaigaon Boys' High School, and its founding faculty included Mr. Guneswar Mushahary, who served as the institution's principal-in-charge, as well as Mrs. Anima Narzary, Mr. Malin Bhattacharjee, Mrs. Anu Rani Brahma, Mrs. Labanya Lahkar, and others.
