INTRODUCTION

Maharana Pratap Government Post Graduate College Chittorgarh was founded in July 1962 in Chittorgarh but began operations at its current location, Pratab Nagar on National Highway No. 76. Initially, the college was only open for graduate programmes, with Arts and Commerce serving as core faculties. In 1977, the institution launched Post Graduate Classes, and today the college provides PG courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science, with a total of nine PG departments. The college is affiliated with Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. It is worth noting that the institution also provides research opportunities in Sociology, English Literature, Commerce (ABST), Political Science, and Hindi.
According to the College's mission statement, this institution is accomplishing goal-oriented success in all sectors and is currently a premier college in the whole Chittorgarh District, giving quality education to both boys and girls.

HISTORY
The Maharana Pratap Govt. Post Graduate College, Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), which began operations in the 1962-1963 academic year, was first connected with the University of Rajasthan, then with MDS University Ajmer, and is now associated with M.L.S University Udaipur. The college moved into its current location on July 1, 1964, with only 152 students. Initially, this institution was established to instruct and nurture young minds in the faculties of Arts and Science at the Graduation levels, and in 1970, Commerce at the Graduation level was added. Postgraduate studies were started in this college in 1977.Current institution has evolved into a multi-faculty college throughout the years, with over 4000 students enrolled on average each year, and 4100 students enrolled during this academic session. With the help of the University Grants Commission, the College built a Seminar Hall and a Tanis Court during the 10th Five-Year Plan.
