About the college

Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing was established in 2001 under the umbrella organisation: Sikkim Manipal University. It is situated in Gangtok in the state of Sikkim. The college is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi and it has a NOC from the Government oF Sikkim. The college is NAAC accredited and is apprived by the State Nursing Council. The college is a renowned research centre as well. The central library has more than 18000 books, journals, editions, reference material and periodicals. The college also has hostel accommodations for females. There are facilties for almost all types of sports. The campus has basketball court, badminton court, volley ball and ground for kabaddi and kho-kho. The college is an active participant in sports competitions at district and state level. Apart from sports, the college enthusiastically organises and participates in cultural events. The nursing college admits only female students.

SMCON Admission 2024

The college currently runs 2 courses: Bachelor degree of Science (B.Sc.) in nursing and Master degree of Science (M.Sc.) in nursing. The college started with only the bachelor`s degree and in 2010 the M.Sc. programme was introduced. The Bachelor degree admits 100 students and the master’s degree admits 25 students per academic session.The admission to the college is done in online mode and the students have to submit the application form at the college website. The college only grants admission to female students and they have to live in the hostel on campus.

Eligibility

B.Sc.: The candidate must be at least 17 years old and should have scored an aggregate of 45% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English in 10+2 from a recognised board. Passing in each subject individually is compulsory.

M.Sc.:  All candidates who have passed B.Sc.in nursing Basic and/or Post Basic with 55% and have work experience of an year are eligible to apply. The candidate must also be a Registered Midwife and Nurse.
