About the college

Located at Tahab in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir,  Zakir Memorial  College of Education was founded in the year 2005. It was established as a Private Co Educational institution by Zakir Memorial Education trust and is managed by the trust. The institution is accredited by National Council for Teacher Education and is temporarily affiliated to University of Kashmir in Srinagar. The premises offer a well-stocked library with access to a large number of books, magazines and journals. The college also has accommodation facilities for both boys as well as girls with hot water supply. Other facilities include well-equipped laboratories, cafeteria, an auditorium, on campus medical facilities, indoor and outdoor sports and a computer lab.

The college offers one course in the field of education which is B.Ed. i.e. Bachelor degree of Education. It is a two year, full time on campus programme based on semester pattern. The curriculum involves studying four compulsory subjects and a choice out of some special papers (Computer Education, Guidance and Counselling, Environmental Education, Special Education, Physical Education or Population Education). The student also has a choice for studying three subjects out of Mathematics, History, Hindi, English, Geography, Bio-Science, Urdu, Punjabi or Physical Science. Admissions are based upon the guidelines laid down by University of Kashmir, Srinagar. Eligibility

In order to apply for enrolment to this course candidate must have passed graduation with 10+2+3 pattern of study with at least 45% of marks in the qualifying examination or any other equivalent examination.
