About the college 

Amala Institute of Medical Sciences [AIMS] is an institution located in Thrissur, Kerala. It was established in 1978 along with the Amala Cancer Hospital. It is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur and is run by Devamatha Province of CMI Congregation. It is recognised by the NMC. The vision of the institution is to become a centre of excellence as a teaching hospital that imparts high quality education with an emphasis on research and application of knowledge. In terms of facilities, the college offers a library, laboratories, high-quality classrooms, Hostels, Sports Club, Arts Club, Gymnasium, integrated learning with the hospital, and several placement opportunities. Several courses at the postgraduate level are offered by the college in the medical sciences. 

AIMS Admission 2024 

Students can pursue a MD (Doctor of Medicine) as subjects of Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Dermatology & Venereology, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, Physiology, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy. An MS (Master of Science) degree can be studied under the subjects of General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Otorhinolaryngology. Other PG degrees offered are DM in Cardiology or Pulmonary Medicine, M.Ch (Master of Chirurgiae) in Neurosurgery, and DrNB (Doctorate of National Board) in Gastroenterolosr or Neurology. 

Eligibility

Candidates must first have completed their MBBS degree from a recognised university, then have completed a minimum one year of internship to be eligible for the seat. Additionally, NEET scores are considered at the time of admission and as is the candidate's registration at the MCI (Medical Council of India).

Admission 

Candidates must apply for the courses to the portal of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) founded by the Government of Kerala. The first step is to register at the website, then fill the application followed by making the application payment for it. After this, relevant documents and certificates will have to be uploaded onto the portal. Once the student has been offered a seat in a college according to their preferences, they must download and print the acknowledgement page to have proof of admission.
