About the college-

A constituent part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the Amrita College of Nursing was launched on November 1, 2002, by Shri. Shathrughnan Sinha, who was the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare at the time. The Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council has approved the college. The college currently offers both a B. Sc. and an M. Sc. in nursing. The B. Sc. Nursing programme, which debuted in 2002 with a 50-seat intake, has since been increased to 100 seats per batch. With an annual intake of 36, the M. Sc. Nursing is offered in four different specialties. This institution's strength is its experienced, capable, and dependable faculty, which includes six professors, four associate professors, and six assistant professors in a variety of specialisations. Through a well-balanced mix of recreational and academic activities, pupils' overall growth is ensured. The successful use of contemporary instructional technologies in the classroom.

The college provides admission to both the undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes. Under the undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing course is provided which is for a time period of four years and in an on campus course. Under the postgraduate programme, the course provided is the Master of Science which has the specialization for the following subjects: Child health nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health nursing. This course is for a time span of two years for a full time on campus course.

Eligibility-

• The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate course is that the candidate must have completed his or her 10+2 education from a recognised board or any other state board.
• For the postgraduate course, a candidate must be a member of a state nursing council and be a registered nurse and midwife and the candidate must have earned at least a 55% cumulative grade point average in B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Hons. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

UG and PG Admissions

For getting admission for the undergraduate course following steps should be taken:

• On August 6, the application portal (AOAP) will publish the rank list. On the dashboard, candidates can see their rankings. The positions of applicants who used the management quota would not be disclosed in the AOAP.
• According to rank, admission is granted.
• Accepting the PAO is the first step (Provisional Admission Offer letter).
• The payment must be made in AOAP only on the second phase.

• In order for the respective school offices to read the papers that the candidates have uploaded, access must be granted to AOAP.
