About the college

College of Architecture Trivandrum [CAT], Trivandrum was established in the year 2011 and is one of the largest architectural schools in India. The college has ties with numerous international institutions and is deemed to be a global D-School got making positive change in the design of the environment built through creative and collaborative academic engagements. The institute is affiliated with A.P.J. Abdul Kalam University of Technology. There are no such high placements provided by CAT however some recruiters of the institute are Jindal’s, DLF, L & T, Architect Consultants, Manchala Associates, VSA Space Design, Sahara Group etc. The college’s Alumni network is pretty active. Students are friendly and are always eager to help and support each other. The faculty here is quite approachable, cordial and helpful to the students. They guide students in their respective projects taken by them.

The Institute offers 2 courses in the fields of Architecture and design. CAT offers only Undergraduate programs. Under those undergraduate programs, the Bachelor of Architecture(B.Arch) and Bachelor of Design (B.des) that is for 5 years and 4 years respectively. The fee for the same is. Rs. 1 Lakh per year. The students are required to enrol in an internship program which is considered a necessity in their 4^th year of study.

Eligibility

A minimum of 50 % in any stream in 10+2 is required as minimum eligibility criteria.
Also, the students need to score good marks in NATA or UCEED or NID entrance exams as it is crucial for the selection process.
The students shall also score a minimum of 60 % marks in their 12^th CBSE examinations .
Counselling will be done for those candidates who have qualified for NATA.
