About the college

 

In 2000, the College of Engineering Thalassery was founded. Sri E.K. Nayanar, the then-honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, lay the cornerstone. In 2004, Sri. M.V. Raghavan, the then-honorable Minister of Co-operation and Ports, formally opened the College's new building complex. It is situated in the Kannur District in Kundoormala, Eranholi (West Ponniam), 6.5 kilometres to the east of Thalassery town. The college is perched on a mountaintop with views of both the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea on either side.

 The expansive campus, which spans 25 acres of land, offers the perfect setting for the quest of knowledge.

The College is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

 

College of Engineering Thalassery Admission 2024 

 

Admission is made as per the rank obtained by eligible candidates in the state-level Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala State. The College Offers B.Tech courses in the following six Engineering streams and M.Tech courses under Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments.

 

Eligibility criteria

 

Candidates who have passed the higher secondary examination in Kerala, or exams deemed equal thereto, with a minimum of 50% in mathematics alone and a total of 50% in math, physics, and chemistry, are eligible for admission.

Or

Candidates are eligible for admission if they hold an engineering diploma issued by the board of technical examinations or an examination recognised as being equivalent thereto by the state board of technical education after completing an institutional course lasting at least three years and earning a minimum of 50% on the final diploma Examination. 

 

UG and PG admission

 

Courses available at B. Tech level are civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, information technology, and mechanical engineering. And as of M. Tech the available courses are Mechanical engineering and electronics and communication engineering. Ph.D. degrees in electronics and communication engineering are also available. According to the curriculum, the course length for a B.Tech degree is four academic years and for an M.Tech degree is two academic years. Each semester's end will see the administration of university exams.
