About the College

The Darbar Gopaldas Shikshan Mahavidyalaya is one of Gujarat's oldest institutions for teacher training. It began to exist in 1953. The D.G.S.M. college has made tremendous advancements in both co-curricular and academic activities. We have given the field of education exceptional instructors throughout the last 60 years. We have several accomplishments to our credit. We provide educators who have humanitarian principles and beliefs. The college underwent NAAC accreditation and received a B+ rating. The college is affiliated with IITE Gandhinagar and has UGC approval. We make an effort to uphold our tradition while also incorporating fresh ideas in accordance with the times. By offering all of the facilities that are occasionally required, the institution satisfies the needs of the trainees. The institution engages in a variety of activities to ensure the trainees' overall growth. The institution became affiliated with Saurashtra University upon its founding. According to a government announcement, the college became affiliated with the Indian Institute of Teacher Education-Gandhinagar in 2024. Through a variety of initiatives and curricular flexibility, the institution also seeks to preserve and advance the honour of Indian heritage. With an annual intake of 50 students, the college offers a two-year bachelor's degree programme.

Since 2007, 50 students have been admitted to the college's Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University study centre for the two-year Teacher Education programme.

The college also houses the NIOS study centre for D.El.Ed.

Eligibility

Candidates applying for the B.Ed. course must have at least 50% in their Bachelor's degree from any reputed university. 

Candidates applying for the D.El.Ed. course must have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 45% marks in the final examination.
