DDU Admission 2024 | Dharmsinh Desai University UG & PG Course Last Date
It was 2nd of January of the year 1968 when the acclaimed university came into existence. The institute was formerly named as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of technology which changed its name to the presently used name i.e Dharmsinh Desai University. Located in western India state , Gujarat it is a state funded University which was founded by Dharmsinh Desai who was the member of parliament. Since its inception, the institute has claimed the prestigious badges hence progressing with each passing year. It was given the autonomous status in 1991 and nine years later i.e.2020 it was assigned deemed college whereas in 2005 the college was promoted to the status of University by the then ruling state government. The state university is recognised by University Grant Commission (UGC), National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) , National Board of Accreditation ( NBA). It is also accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and member of AIU.

It has a total of 660 undergraduate students and 100 postgraduate students enrolled in various disciplines. The university grants degrees in technological field, management and information science field pharmacy and dental science. The college also aims to open a medical College in coming years. The campus area is 42 acres. The university has been awarded at various National and International Conclaves. In the Oxford summit of leaders organized by the UK in 2013, the university was awarded as the best regional university. It was ranked Asia's 100 best and fastest way educational institutes. The year 2015 brought another glory to the institute as it was awarded. Asian education excellence summit award organized by WCRC leaders.

It signed a MOU with BOSCH REXROTH in the year 2013.
151-200 was the overall ranking by NIRF in 2024, whereas 101-150 among universities and 193 in engineering institutes.
