About the college

Government College located in Chittur was established in the year 1947. It is affiliated with the University of Calicut. The college is recognised as a special grade government college under the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. The college has highly qualified faculty with great teaching methods to make students understand the depth of the topic thoroughly. The vision of the college is to provide its students with a nurturing environment for the acquisition of knowledge and outlook that will enable them to tread the path trodden by great people. The college has provided students with various facilities like a seminar hall, auditorium, library, hostel, transport facility and canteen.

Government College Admission 2024 

 The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in science, arts and commerce streams. There are 15 departments: Geography, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Electronics, History, Malayalam, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, English, Tamil, and Zoology. The Departments of Tamil, Geography, Philosophy, Music and Mathematics are the research departments under the University of Calicut. It has been accredited  with an A Grade (CGPA 3.01 out of 4). The annual intake of students is 200-300. The course is for full-time for a duration of 2 and 3 years respectively. The course consists of 220 working days inclusive of the admission examination and 200 instructional days. Eligibility

 

  • Candidates shall be admitted to this college provided they have passed a degree examination and have completed their +2 from a recognised board or institution.
  • Students should not have any receptacle in any subject .
  • Students should qualify for the entrance examinations if any conducted by the college.
  • Relaxation in marks is provided for the reserved categories ( SC / ST, OBC, MBC ).

 UG & PG Admission

  • Upload the documents in the application form such as photograph and signature etc.
  • OBC candidates have to upload caste certificates as per the Gol format.
  • The incomplete application form will be rejected and will be considered complete only upon the receipt of the prescribed fees.
