About the college

Pushpagiri Medical Society in the year 2002 founded Pushpagiri College of Nursing as a private educational institution. It aims at improving the quality of services rendered to the society by preparing students to become competent nurses. The college is located in Pushpagiri campus, Thiruvalla in the state of Kerala. The college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences in Thrissur. It is recognised and approved by the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi and by Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.

The college library has extensive collections of books, journals, periodicals, newspapers and thesis. The library has a separate reading area, E-journals and provides bibliographic services. The college provides separate hostel accommodations for girls and boys. The college also has an Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC). The college campus has various laboratories to facilitate practical teaching including Nursing lab, Community Health Nursing lab, Nutrition lab and Child Health Nursing.

The college offers Bachelor degree of Science in Nursing and Master degree of Science in Nursing. The courses have durations of 4 years and 2 years respectively. The master’s degree in nursing has Mental Health Nursing, Medical Surgical nursing and Child Health Nursing as specialisation subjects. The permissible student capacity for B.Sc. in nursing is 50 students and for M.Sc. in nursing is 13 seats per academic session. The admission process is online and requires submission of application form along with the required documents. The application has to be submitted on the official website of Association of the Managements of Christian Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMCSFNCK).

Eligibility

B.Sc. in Nursing

The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination or pre-university examination from CBSE/ ICSE/ State Board or any other examination with 12 years of schooling with at least 50% score in total. The candidate must have studied Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects.

M.Sc. Nursing

The candidate should have scored 55% in B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic/Post basic) from a recognised institution with a minimum experience of 1 year recognised by INC. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
