The English and Foreign Language University was established in 1979. It is a Central University situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. 

Previously, it was set up in the name of the Central Institute of English in 1958. But in 1979, it was renamed as the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages. The campus for the Lucknow University was founded in the year 1979.

COURSES OFFERED:-

BACHELOR OF ARTS [B.A.] {HONS.} (ENGLISH):-

• Total Fees: Rs. 13,585.
• Duration: 3 Years. 
• Streams offered: English. 
• Eligibility: Students are required to have completed his/her 12th from a recognized board. Students must have taken English as one of the subjects. Minimum criteria for the General Category is that the candidates must have scored 50% in 12th class. And for the SC/ST students, the minimum criteria is 45%.

DIPLOMA:-

• Total Fees: Rs. 6,700.
• Duration: 3 Years.
• Streams Offered: French, Spanish and Russian.
• Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for the students who want admission in the programme is that he/she must have completed his/her 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum marks of 50%.

CERTIFICATE COURSE IN ENGLISH AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:-

• Duration: 1 Year.
• Streams offered: English and Communication Skills.
• Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for the students who want admission in the programme is that he/she must have completed his/her 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum marks of 50%.

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN THE TEACHING OF ENGLISH (PGDTE):-

• Duration: 1 Year.
• Total Fees: Rs. 6,700.
• Streams Offered: English Teaching.
• Eligibility: Candidates are required to graduate from a recognized university.

CERTIFICATION:-

• Duration: 4 months.
• Streams Offered: Spanish, Russian, French and German.
• Eligibility: Interested students are required to have completed his/her 12th from a recognized university.

MASTERS OF ARTS [M.A.]:-

• Duration: 2 years.
• Total Fees: Rs. 10,930.
• Streams Offered: English and Linguistics.
• Eligibility: Students must have pursued the graduation degree with minimum marks of 50%. 

Ph.D:-

• Duration: 3 years.
• Total Fees: Rs. 25,155.
• Streams Offered: English Literature, English Language and Literature and Linguistics and Phonetics.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA:-

• Duration: 1 Year.
• Streams Offered: Spanish, French and German. 
• Eligibility: Candidates who want to pursue the Advanced Diploma, he/she must have completed 12th from a recognized board with minimum marks of 50%.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION [B.ED] (ENGLISH):-

• Duration: 2 Years.
• Total Fees: Rs. 39,650.
• Streams Offered: English.
• Eligibility: Candidates must have completed his/her 12 from a recognized board with minimum marks of 50%.

ADMISSION PROCESS:-

• Candidates have to visit the official website of the university. Official website of the institute is http://www.eflulucknow.ac.in/.
• Students are required to fill the application form after attaching the relevant documents.
• After filling the application forms, students are required to pay the application fees. For General quota students, they have to pay Rs. 500 and for the ST/SC students, they have to pay Rs. 250.
• After successful registration, the candidates have to give an online entrance examination which is conducted all over India.
•   After the conduct of online examinations, the university will update the results of the candidates who are shortlisted for the counselling round.
•  After the counselling process is over, college authorities will verify the documents of the aspirant. If all the documents of the candidate are fine, he/she will get the admission in the university.

SELECTION PROCESS:-

The selection of the candidate is based on the marks obtained by him/her in the entrance examination and also the marks acquired by him/her in the previous examination.
