Abhinav Degree College was founded in June 2000 in the MiraBhayandar district, on the northern outskirts of the Brihan Mumbai Metropolis. The institution is the realisation of a goal envisioned by Late Moreshwar Narayan Patil (Bapuji), the great independence warrior and founder of Abhinav Shetkari Shikshan Mandal, who began the mission of providing education to the public, particularly the children of impoverished and illiterate farmers. Aside from traditional B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc, the institutionalso offer professional courses such as B.Com (Accounting and Finance), B.M.M (Bachelor in Mass Media), B.Sc.IT (Information Technology), and B.Sc.CS (Computer Science) to meet the demands of a changing socioeconomic scenario and a transitory phase in a global environment.
