About the college

Agharkar Research Institute [ARI] is located in Pune, Maharashtra. It's a Public (Autonomous) institution and was established in 1946. The college is affiliated with SPPU, Pune for postgraduate research (M.Sc and Ph.D). The institution is formerly known as Maharashtra Association for Cultivation of Science (MACS). The institute offers Research degrees in six different fields of biology.It is an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The institute has facilities of modern infrastructural, well-equipped laboratories, a guest house and students’ hostel.

ARI Admission 2024

The admission process is used to administer admissions to programmes. The applicant must possess either a CSIR/UGC-Junior Research Fellowship or NET-LS/GATE. They must have completed their M.Sc. with minimum 60% aggregate marks.The university must receive the application online. The university creates the index mark list and assigns the seats. If the admission is accepted, the candidate gets enrolled on payment of fees. The application mode for securing admission in the institution.

Eligibility

To get admission in the course, the candidate must have for Phd programs, candidates must possess M.Sc. or any equivalent qualification with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

Candidates must possess CSIR/UGC-Junior Research Fellowship or NET-LS/GATE as well as a fellowship from agencies like DBT, ICAR, etc.

Students from the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) must receive at least 45% of the possible points.

UG Admission

The college doesn't offer any undergraduate courses. 

PG Admission 

The college offers various programs at the postgraduate levels. These programs are primarily offered in the field of Arts, Science, and Commerce. Candidates can choose the specialisations they wish to pursue their career in.
