About the College

A component part of Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune is the Yashwantrao Chavan Law College, located near Malkapur Karad, District Satara in Maharashtra. Our college is located in the rural Karad Taluka community of Malkapur. Freedom warriors, devoted politicians, social reformers, and our former deputy prime minister, Hon. Yashwantraoji Chavan, have all called Karad their home. In June 2000, Hon. Dr. Patangraoji Kadam founded this college in order to satisfy his dedication and deep desire to provide students from rural areas and underprivileged groups with legal education. The college is associated with Shivaji University in Kolhapur and has received approval and recognition from the governments of Maharashtra and New Delhi's Bar Council of India. The college provides two courses—a three-year law course and a five-year law course—that are of a high standard for undergraduate legal education. The BCI and Shivaji University have recognised and approved these courses. The college has embraced the curriculum set forth by Kolhapur's affiliated Shivaji University. In addition, the college offers certificate programmes in Pragmatic English and Proficiency in English, as well as a diploma in Cyber Law. This college is distinguished by its qualified, experienced, and approved teaching staff, rich library with text books, reference books, law reports, and journals, computer lab with free internet access, mandatory dress code, ongoing student evaluation, Legal Aid and Advice Cell, Legal Literacy Programs, practical education through routinely scheduled Court Visits, and Lawyers' Chamber Visits.

Eligibility

Only 12th grade and a three-year graduation are required for entry into a three-year law programme, with 12th grade serving as the minimal requirement. You can complete your 10th, 12th (+2), and graduation requirements in any way (remote learning, correspondence learning, or open schooling). For admission to an LLM programme, a candidate must have earned a Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution in the fields of law or social science.
