Lady Hardinge Medical College is a medical college for the women in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1916, later affiliated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the University of Delhi in 1950. The name of the college is named after Lady Hardinge, wife of the then Viceroy of India, Baron Charles Hardinge who recognized that there is lack of medical college for women. Back then when college was started there was only 16 students. Now, they have a admission capacity of 200 students. The college is funded by the Government of India.
The college has two hospitals, Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital and Kalawati Saran Child Hospital for their student training and it also provides tertiary level medical facilities to the city. The Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital has 877 beds and the Kalawati Saran Child Hospital has 350 beds. The college has Hostel, Library, Auditorium, Laboratories and many more. The college has a big and one of the oldest medical libraries in India and also consists good collection of old journals in the biomedical sciences. They have one of the best professors in the medical science.
