Symbiosis International University, Bangalore was established in the year 1971 by Prof. SB Mujumdar. It has been reaccredited with A grade by NAAC. The university has 10 campuses- 6 in Pune, one-one in Nashik, Noida, Bengaluru, and hyderabad. It has received the status of deemed to be university by the ministry of Human resource development, government of India.

It has been divided into eight faculties namely faculty of law, faculty of management,faculty of computer science, faculty of health and biomedical sciences, faculty of media, communication and design, faculty of humanities and social sciences and faculty of engineering.

It has a total of 48 departments under eight departments. It offers the option of full time and part time MBA. The provision of scholarships and education loans is also being provided to the students.

To provide assistance to the students, there are several committees and cells working in this direction. Some of them are the admissions committee, alumni committee, conference and events committee, corporate relations and placement committee, cultural and international relations committee, students welfare and sports committee and many more.

The University has put its special focus on encouraging research activities. A research committee has been established for this motive. The college students and staff have also been engaged in publishing much content over the past few years.

To support other non academic interests of the students and to promote extra curriculars activities the university has various clubs such as geopolitical and economics club, the entrepreneurship club, rotaract club, creative club, operations club, marketing club, finance club and the HR club. Music club, dramatics club and literary club are also there.

Various activities such as TedX, sports activities, management conclave, funfair events for underprivileged kids and international students fest are also organized annually. They also publish their annual magazine which is named as symbeat.

Infrastructure is well-equipped which comprises classrooms for lectures, studios, self help libraries, seminar hall with projectors, courtyard for group activities, gatherings and cultural events, assembly hall, playground, canteen, parking space, computer lab. 

Other infrastructure includes a hostel, guest house, assembly hall, and a photography lab.
