Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology is an autonomous engineering Institute located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1952 and is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. It is one of the Institute of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme in India. It has been approved by the AICTE and NBA. It is also accredited as a grade "B++" Institute by the NAAC.

Eligibility criteria

For B.E Course

• Candidates must have to complete their 10+2 exam from any recognized board or any equivalent exam as well and must have physics, chemistry and Mathematics as their core subjects. 
• Candidates must have passed 10+2+3 stream i.e. B.Sc. with mathematics as a subject in B.Sc. level. 

For MCA Course

• Candidates must have to pass their bachelor degree from any recognised University from any stream as well. 

For M.E course

• Candidates must have to pass their bachelor's degree from any recognized university in the various streams of B.E or BTech with an aggregate of 55% marks. 

For Ph.D course

• Candidates must have to pass their Master's degree from any recognised University. 

Eligibility criteria

For B.E Course

• Selection will be done on the basis of marks secured in the TNEA state level entrance exam conducted by the Anna University which is followed by the counseling process. 

For M.E and M.Tech Course

• Selection will be done on the basis of marks secured in a qualifying examination followed by the counseling process which is conducted by the Anna University.
