About the college

Annai Vailankkani Arts and Science College started its journey in the year 2009 with the aim of providing education to all multi-cultural and multi-linguistic young minds irrespective of caste and creed. The college is located in the Thanjavur area, in the centre of the city. The college prospered thanks to its superior infrastructure and lush surroundings. It was positioned in a setting free from traffic and noise pollution. The Most Rev.Dr.M.Devadass Ambrose, L.S.S., D.D., Bishop of Thanjavur nurtured this college to fulfil the dreams of young minds by inducing and promoting traditional humanitarian ethical values, enhancement of literacy, intellectual and all-round developments to empower the world. He considered that the social and economic condition of the youth must not be a hindrance to pursue their degree. He established this college in the academic year 2009-2010 which was confirmed by the governing body held on 26th August, 2008. The Government of Tamil Nadu, G.O.17, dated 08.06.2009, granted its approval to start the college in the academic year 2009. The College initially made its start at V.O.C Nagar, Thanjavur district with modest number of programmes. 

The Annai Vailankkani Arts and Science College began operations in 2009 with the mission of educating all young minds from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, regardless of caste or creed.

Annai Vailankanni Arts  Science College Admission 2024 

The college provides undergraduate, postgraduate courses. It provides  11 departments in the stream of science, arts and commerce. Admission is given to the candidates on the basis of their marks.

Eligibility criteria

For Admission in UG courses a candidate should have passed in the Higher Secondary Examination (10 + 2) (Academic / Vocational Stream ) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu; or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed therefor. And for PG courses the candidate should have completed his or her graduation in relevant stream.

With 15 Undergraduate, 07 Postgraduate, 06 M. Phil., and 04 Ph. D. programmes currently offered, the college is thriving. With the help of it's 120 professors, 3000 students have the chance to learn about themselves and the world around them.
