About the college
Arignar Anna Government Arts College (AAGAC) was established in 1962 by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.G.Ramachandran . It is situated in Musiri, Manapparai, Tamil Nadu. It is an affiliated College of the Bharathidasan University.
It is one of the government colleges in the Trichy area with the potential for distinction. It received recognition from the UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) in 2006, and in 2008, NAAC reaccredited it with an A grade. Although history is brief in this college, it will endow historical figures with humanity. The name Mr. C.N. Anna Durai (late), a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was chosen by assembly members of that state for this college. They have various facilities like libraries, laboratories, and canteen . It also has transportation and hostel system.

This college provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. For graduation a candidate can choose any of the following subjects that is Economics, English, History, Commerce, Botany, Chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, Tamil and Zoology For post graduation the courses available are economics, history, commerce, botany, chemistry, mathematics, tamil and zoology. One can also pursue M. Phil in zoology and M. Phil in English.
