Chandy College of Education, Thoothukudi was established in November 2007 the college has been recognised by National Council for Technical Education it is affiliated to Tamilnadu teachers education University it has been accredited with B grade by NAAC the college is run and managed by Pit Chandi purnamalai Amal trust there may name is to provide good quality education to this students in order to build professional and quantitative education through leadership and toim by in their prospective teachers dignity, dedication, diligence and assess of non discrimination towards teaching profession the college is located at 5.5 km distance avoid range of facilities including library hostel transport facilities residential facilities and some of the infrastructure includes classrooms multipurpose hall work experience room, language lab, psychology lab, physical science computer lab and et lab the college offers are very vibrant campus life to the students coming over there by organising various extra curricular activities and motivating students to take part and to bring awards as well as recognitions to the college.

The college provides the course of Bachelors in bachelors in education in 6 different major subjects including Tamil English Mathematics physical science biological science and history the courses have been approved by National Council for Technical Education and the course curriculum have been structured in accordance with Tamilnadu education University. 

Eligibility 

Only those students are eligible who have qualified their postgraduate degree while securing 50% of the marks with the same major subjects in undergraduate degree and the candidate must have passed in the undergraduate degree examination in the 10 + 2 + 3 stream different percentages are required for different categories of students.
