In Chennai, India, there is a higher education and research institution called the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI). The SPIC Science Foundation formed it in 1989, and it provides undergraduate and graduate programmes in physics, mathematics, and computer science. The CMI is renowned for its work in the field of moduli of bundles in algebraic geometry. CMI became a deemed university in December 2006 after receiving Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956 recognition as a university.   • Students who hold degrees in relevant disciplines, such as a B.Sc., B.Math., B.Stat., or a B.Tech., or an equivalent, are eligible to apply for the postgraduate program.
  • Students may apply for a Ph.D. in CMI if they have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and have a significant aptitude for research.
