Kapi college of education or KAPICO was instituted in the year 2006 in Madurai , city of Tamil Nadu , India. Under the keenness ,  depth of perception and motivation of Prof G Arumugam , who was scholar at Gandhigram Rural Institute, in Gandhigram Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. His vision to " promote education, promote poor" is reflection of his accounting to backward villages which is why the premise of this institute is set up to culture the Students for evolutionary changes in society, relating to cultural and social amendment and adapting to the upgraded requirements. Due to agile economical aid and excellent education he inherited from his alma mater, founded by Mama Shri G Ramachandran , Professor G Arumugam had gained special statue in the society.

The college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University ( TNTEU)  and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Therefore the bachelor of education ( B.Ed ) from KAPICO  is best amongst the seven other courses offered. The motto of the college is "To seek truth is knowledge" has prevailed from Tirukkural , a book by Thiruvallevar.

With mesmerizing infrastructure of the college , it has equally surprising and adequately equipped science lab , bioscience lab, computer lab , ET lab , physical science lab and psychology lab too. Additionally the college is also equipped with a unique language lab, which makes students oriented for the upcoming work environment . Within the campus is an equally magnificent library with numerous journals , magazines and books of all sorts of various genres that would quench the thirst of knowledge seekers . KAPI college besides organizing various cultural and social programmes of awareness also organizes various seminars on different fields in its seminar hall.
