About the College
The Ambur Muslim Educational Society (AMES) established the Mazharul Uloom College in 1969 thanks to the combined efforts of a committed group working under the direction of the late Janab Anaikar Abdul Shukoor Sahib, a famous philanthropist and leather businessman. The College began with a small number of students and has since grown exponentially over the years, with both teaching and non-teaching staff needed to accommodate the growing student body. It shares 20.5 acres of land with AMES College of Education, which opened for business in the 2003–2004 academic year.
