About the college
The trustees of the "Sri Meenakshi Chandrasekaran Pillai Educational Trust," who live in Pattukkottai, come from a well-known family with a long history. "Meenakshi Chandrasekaran College of Arts and Science" was established at the request of the trustees who felt compelled to give citizens of and around Pattukkottai town a foundation for receiving higher education. The college initially started as a Co-Education College in the academic year 1998-1999. But during that time as there was no College for Arts & Science at pattukkottai exclusively for women, Percentage of girls pursuing collegiate education was low. Trustees noted this unhealthy trend with concern and decided to convert this higher education institute as an exclusive center for women and consequently the college was converted as a women's college from the academic year of 2008-2009. In addition to introducing new courses gradually, the college's administration also supplies all necessary infrastructure. The college's administration has vowed to equalise the college with other well-known and reputable colleges in the region.

Application for admission shall be submitted in the prescribed form. In case any candidate desires to apply for more than one course, separate application form should be submitted for each course. Prescribed printed application form can be obtained from the college office in person. The application form is non transferable in nature
Eligibility criteria
The applicant for an undergraduate degree must have successfully completed the required courses in class 12th from an approved board. Similarly in order to apply for postgraduate programmes the candidate should have earned a degree in a related discipline from an authorised university.
UG admission and PG admission
The Institute offers graduation degree under various streams of arts, science and commerce. Any candidate desirous of joining the college can do provided he fulfills the eligibility criteria and has merit.
