MV Muthiah Government Arts College for Women is located in Dindigul in the state of Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1966. The college is affiliated to Mother Teresa university, Dindigul. The institute is a public autonomous institute. It has been accredited with grade 'A' from National Assessment in Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute is one of the largest government institutions for women in Tamil Nadu. It was established with the mission to empower women through higher education.

The admissions in various courses in MV Muthiah Government Arts College for Women is done on certain eligibility criteria. Candidates seeking admission in undergraduate programs are taken under consideration on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of the last exam passed by them i.e.. 10 + 2 level examinations. Candidates seeking admission to post graduation are taken under consideration on the basis of their marks scored in the entrance exam which is conducted by the distinguished department of the college. Eligibility
The basic eligibility criteria defined by the college for taking admission in under graduation is that the student must have completed its 10 + 2 level education from a recognised board under relevant stream, scoring at least 55% or equivalent. Students seeking admission in post graduation must have completed their under graduation in a relevant subject by scoring 50% at least at their passing percentage. There is some relaxation for students belonging to the SC/ST community.
